Science
Science is not only one of the core subjects, it is a very important subject to us at Gorse Covert Primary too. Science fits well with our 3Cs curriculum too because it naturally develops children’s ‘curiosity’. We are also fortunate to be close to the Science park in Birchwood so we hope to develop the scientists of the future!
In KS2, teachers ‘interleave’ all areas of the science curriculum as we believe it helps to them to recall and retain key knowledge from the different areas of science. This means that each week, they do a different science unit so that all areas are covered over the full year, rather than do several weeks on one area.
